In this energetic and refreshingly real talk she covers uncharted territories about how women and men alike can future-proof their careers by learning how to work better across generations and within our teams at Marketo.

Jamie's 'on point' advice about how to be your best self and how to create opportunities around you at work resonates with all generations. There were several important and relevant themes discussed, such as the importance of creating an open environment for ideas to be shared across generations, not just from the top down, why she loves hiring working moms, how to establish your brand in spite of stereotypes, and the importance of developing awareness about the generations before and after you and how it can help your career.

Four talented  Silicon Valley female leaders from Facebook, Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo and the SETI Institute provided great insights into how they've been successful in their careers in male dominated fields. The meeting kicked off with brief stories about what aspects of their upbringing played a role in landing them in their respective industries, which ranged from cattle ranching to playing sports to quitting a job without a back up. From there the panelists shared advice on how to be thoughtful in your career planning, how to have your voice be heard, how their companies have made progress in gender diversity and much more. These ladies were genuine, entertaining, and dynamic, so be sure to watch the recording!

With over 25 years of leadership experience, Mike MaKieve took the audience by storm with his real life story of how he changed the organizational culture of Telecom AUS in 12 months from customer hated, to customer adored. It wasn't easy, but he did this through leadership, customer relations, employee relations, business success and more. He even spoke about his job as a bus driver for underprivileged kids was his favorite because of the positive impact he was able to make on them in such a short time.

It was a great lesson of how she’s transformed business as her art, modeling her career around the principal “Good relationships make good business”.

During this emotional and inspiring inaugural Momentum meeting, Marketo’s own Margo Smith, SVP and General Counsel, shared her personal journey and experiences and how they have impacted her decisions both in her personal and professional life. Margo’s session was based around the “Like a Girl” campaign which she showed during her talk. She also shared how she balances work and family and took several questions from the audience. The audience was so interested and engaged we ran out of time!
